Harvesting works underway on the paddy fields by members participated
It was rather hard year than last and especially weather on the summer
as far as temperature, they were severe and lack of water hit rice on the paddy fields.

Severe and hard harvesting works have been completed after
ten days long works thanks to member participated

The one of activities driving a new year has been performed on February 23 and 24
on the snowy field in Ojiya city,
it is called "Hot Air Balloon" competition, at the same time some food court were opened and
our association has placed a small booth..

April 26, 2019
It came already in April and time to going into Rice seedling planted on end of May which is
one week earlier than last year.
The roads to the terrased paddy rice fields (Tanbo) were not open due to snow piled on it and it is
therefore the site was photo taken from the side of pref. road 341.
The photo was taken on April 12, 2019 just for reference.

May 11, 2019
The preparatioon of the Rice seedling planting works underway at paddy fields and
the Tanbo the association maintein has started and the goal is to complete Tanbo's to be able to
make planting works before coming May 25, 2019.
Several essential works are such smoothing of Tanbo surface and manureing all over the Tanbos.
May 25, 2019
The rice seedling planting works on the year 2019 have been performed having 53 persons in total
for three days works.
Number of Tanbos running this year are nine, and started any works on the Tanbo fields till harvesting time
on September
As for some works on Tanbo, they are recorded on other pages for the reference.
July 14, 2019
About one and half months passed since after rice seedling planting on end of May
and weed mowing works has been done several times since.
It looks growing speed of weeds has speedy than rice seedling and we are obliged moring works
when time allowed, so that no weed killer are applied on all over the tanbo fields.
There scheduled six more times of mowing works before coming rice harvesting time..
September 28, 2019
The rice harvesting works on the Terraced paddy fields were carried out on Sept 27 theu 28 on 2019.
It was noticed that Tanbo's ground surfaces were rigid and tight so that Combine did his job smoothly.
The number of Tanb-fields are nine(9) and all around were well prapaared such mowing weeds on the roads are cut in advance.
April 8, 2020
The meeting with members are held in the open air fields (terraced rice paddy fields)
talking about how the works be proceeded this year.
First works for cultivating the paddy fields be started in sometime late April if everythings be prepared.

May 30, 2020
The rice seedling planting works has been atarted and complete on May 29 and 30.
The member joined were limited to the persons living in Niigata pref. in order to
prevent infection from COVID19,it is therefore persons participeted were 17 persons in total.
Note: Prior to seedling planting making possible eight (8) days preparation works have been performed
on the rice paddy fields.
Those preparation includs surface of Tanbo fields making clear to get lid of unnessesary grases and rice stubbles
As the Tanbo, where did not make planting operetions on the last year, had a plenty of runner and those runner
gave us a hard working situatioon before cleaning up.
It is our concern that the lack of water on the tanbo in time,
when it is required since the amount of snow falling this year was so little.
September 9, 2020
The fifteenth rice seedling works had been done on end of May and almost four months have been passed,
and number of Tanbo's planted this year are 11tanbos.
The tanbo maintenance works have been carried out by mostly members of persons
who are living in Niigata prefectire, this was due toCOVID-19 affects.
The present status of rice fields look the similar to ones with the last year,
it is however many of rice of ear in the rice fields are slanted (like as waves on the sea)
due to strong winds occured on September 3 (Typhoon nunber 10)
The rice harvesting works are scheduled on coming September 25 thru27 provided
if weather and status of rice ear of rice are allowed for Combine works.
October 5, 2020
The fifteenth rice harvesting works have been conducted and completed on October 4, most of the rice plants
were slanted and this gives much work to volunteers perticipated unlike last years.
The rice slants were caused by strong winds of side effects of Typhoon nbr 10 even it passed west of Kyusyu island far from Niigata.
The picture below is an instant view on the manual mowing of rice plants being layed on the foot pass on the rice fields.
They will be processed by Combine later to complete the works.
June 1, 2021
The 16th rice seedling planting works had been held at the terraced paddy fields on May 31 and June 1
with volunteers gathered with sunshine atmosphere.
Number of tanbo are now counted for eleven pieces (11) and tanbo conditions on the some of them showed
difficult working because of surface of tanbo were not flat and water on them are not evenly filled up.
Because of it, such part of tanbo are divided by a ridge in a field and left uncultivated .
From now on and until the time of harvest on end of september, weed mowing works and water management be continued .
July 3, 2021
Some drain cutting works have been done on the tanbo fields after one month of rice seed planting.
There should be many timely works needed on the tanbo to be able to grow rice in good manner,
one of such is making "V shape" drain between rice seedling lines on the tanbo.
This makes possible water in the tanbo flows into the V shape drains, and this make the tanbo be able to get dry
that appreciate rice seedling planted can grow roots in the tanbo.
It is, because, the roots of rice seedling seeks water under ground and
this makes possible a stem of rice get tightly stand and avoid falling down the rice after grown up.
Any various works be continued now before harvesting time comes .

September 28,2021
About four months has passed since after rice seedling planted on end of May,
and those what had planted grown as per day passed.
The harvesting works have been done from September 25 thru 28
and it was confirmed that the grounds in the Tanbo was tight that is good for Combine machine.
When we look back in the past, many Tanbo's ground were wet and did not suitable for Combine works.
All the harvesting works were completed by four days works.by persons gathered.
May 17, 2022
The works in the terraced paddy fields are started on May 15 on the new area from this year.
Actually the recovery and maintenance works have been started 18 years ago, persons participated get aged
and we better to do the work "enjoyable", and "not rather"need to do" so name of association has been changed as well.
As for the new terraced paddy fice fields, it consists of five tanbo and much closer location from regional road of 341 than before.
We do not know the new tanbo's character yet so that we may encounter difficulty with tanbo's from now.
Number of tanbo of five are assigned as nbr" 20 thru 24" following the previous tanbo'.

The 17th rice seedling plantation was completed on June 3, after five days works by member participated.
Actually the paddy rice fields that performed this year was not the same place, but different place than before, and ,
the water management will be highly requested on the paddy fields since no characteristics on the tanbo are known yet.

October 3, 2022
The 17th rice mowing harvesting works has been completed on October 3rd by members
participated at the new tanbo site ,there have been many activities for weeding plants.
The environment around new tanbo, as far as this year, showed different than the last place,
Those needs to be understood and analized to create better countermeasure in each tanbo's.field.
In addition, the all tanbo fields have got stubble layed down on the ground by strong winds, this gave hand mowing works at the many tanbo's.

It has come to the second year works on the Ino-sawa paddy fields.
There found some large trees that were fallen down on the way to the tanbo.
The scheduled preparation works will be done in two weeks from now on the site.
